† I wanna make a supersonic man outta you.

I think I wanna be a unicorn. Do they have training classes for that? I don't want to mess around with mermaid or fairy princess or any of that. Give me straight up unicorn.

As a kid I wanted to be a nomadic, whip-smart, weekend goth with weird colored hair, who had limitless access to all of the stories in the world for free and minimal effort. Now I have an iPhone and the rest is more or less true -- and all I want to be is a unicorn. I think I got it backwards.

Comic-Con!

In case you weren't on the internet for the last few months, Comic-Con happened in San Diego. If it didn't take over your Twitter and Facebook feeds, you can probably take that as a sign that you need more geek friends. Geeks will inherit the earth, after all.

I got to go for the first time this year... kind of! I didn't have a ticket to the actual convention, but I had never been to San Diego before and (correctly) assumed that with an event as big as Comic-Con is there would be enough happening around the convention center to entertain me for a day.

Spent a lot of time here getting free food and soda, and the ever important unlimited access to power outlets and bathrooms.

The family that dresses up as Jedi together.......

Hello Kitty Fashion Music Wonderland. Yes on all counts.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey Jon. Lookin good.

These guys were actors, riiiiight? (The giant mirror cube was not an actor. That thing was for real.)

Wearing and loving my oversize, loose-knit sweater by Only from ASOS. It is the comfiest, fulfills my desires for all things baggy and oversized, and I am ready to move into it. Now leasing.

Did any of you guys go to Comic-Con, or is everyone just tired of hearing about it?

† Wild Horuses

Oh my gosh, I just made a (TERRIBLE) pun from the Eye of Horus. Is that the worst thing I've ever done? It is, right? Forgive me for the indignity, ancient beings of Egypt.

Super quick outfit snaps from when I was in California over the weekend. Definitely the best picture of my so-called signature clear heeled JC's to date. I love those shoes to death, let it be known. I wore them all day as I traipsed around the Villa Getty museum and had no foot pain regret. If you're in the LA area and haven't been to the Villa Getty, definitely go check it out. If I hadn't done so much other cool stuff, it could easily be the highlight of my trip. Free admission, $15 to park your car.

Most importantly is this Freak of Nature midi skirt! Can I get an "AWWW, YEAAAH!"???

We have four seasons over here but they don't necessarily happen in order. It'll probably snow again before the summer is out. That kind of thing happens. I was taking off and adding layers all day with this dress, but I think it worked. A wardrobe of monochromatic black/white/grey lends itself well to accessorizing.

Wearing this rockin' Motel dress to celebrate being accepted into the Motel Rocks street team. I am SUPER particular with brands I'll affiliate and work with, for better or for worse, but when it came to Motel it was a no-brainer. What this means for you guys is 20% off every time you shop at Motel and name-drop me. Enter "AMENFASHION" as a promo code and bam. Discount. (I tried it. It works.) It never expires. No minimum. The only time you can't use it is if the item is already on sale.

These are some of my favorites that they have right now. I am obsessed with the Shiva dress in both rainbow and monochrome, omg. I keep seeing it pop up on bloggers and waaaant. Want. Go in my closet, Shiva dress. Unless I messed up the html, clicking on the picture should take you to its Motel page. Cool! (Use "amenfashion" and you can get $12 off the Shiva dress. Plus shipping is already free. Cool x 2.)

I love a lot of things (RuPaul, CoverGirl Outlast, Layne Staley, hairdye) but near the top of my love list joined hand in hand are fast food and breakfast. My parents didn't teach me how to cook -- they taught me how to drive thru, and I respect that as a life lesson. I love fries, all day, all night, all the time. (Ranked Arby's, ChikFilA, Wendy's, Burger King, McD's in order of tastiness.) I am master and commander of the dollar menu. I know how to order cheaply with the least amount of post-traumatic-processed-food-stress nausea afterwards. These are life skills.

I know a handful of people who don't like/don't eat breakfast, and that bums me out because breakfast is so good. The best breakfast of all (short of like, something cooked at home, but I don't know anything about that) is drive-thru breakfast. Hardee's biscuits. The Egg McMuffin. Can we talk about the CroissanWich? During the week, I try to stick with bagels or rice or oatmeal or something I won't be regretful over later for breakfast, but the weekend will often find me (shamelessly) queued up in a drive-thru at 10am.

What I'm getting at is that I had a CroissanWich and a giant Coke for breakfast and it's sitting in my stomach like pound of lead, but it was so good. I love you, CroissanWich.

Freak of Nature, Latest and Greatest

A few weeks ago I spazzed out about a new line, Freak of Nature, and its knock-out designer, Vanessa Kortlang. She's been making waves since then -- Topshop is going to debut some stuff in early May, and there's a bunch of new pieces out on Asos.

This stuff is killer. Check it out.

Look for Freak of Nature on Facebook, and shop it at ASOS and Yayer.

† Girls in Bands Make Great Fashion.

It was LIGHT OUTSIDE when I walked to work this morning. Usually it's still dark when I get there, but today we had sun! I'm willing to bet tomorrow we'll have sun too. I think it's a thing now. A thing where the sun comes out at a proper time.

It also means that everything is melting which is awesome because I can commence wearing clothes I like. It gets cold here in the winter and I bundle up. No one wants to see pictures of me dressed like an alpaca.

I've been scouting brands to put on my wishlist, and my favorite I've come across so far is Freak of Nature.

Freak of Nature is the style child of Vanessa Kortlang, launched August 2012 and picked up to be stocked on the ASOS website right away. The brand's Facebook page is right here and is obviously too hot for life.

They describe themselves as:
Straddling the line between glamour and grunge with a huge dose of in your face attitude, FREAK OF NATURE is inspired by the darker side of counter culture.

Perfect, basically. Here are some of my favorite pieces stocked by ASOS:
